Several Singaporean students studying in the United Kingdom were seen trying to get their flights changed to avoid spending time in quarantine upon arrival.
The UK has recently announced an update in its policy for those arriving in England and Scotland from Singapore and Thailand, stating that travellers from these countries will no longer be required to self-isolate for 14 days after landing.
Several students were seen trying to change their travel dates to benefit from the recent development. Many universities were charging extra for the self-isolation accommodation, and the students will now not be required to bear this additional expense.
The new policy also applies for travellers entering Wales and Northern Ireland.
