Sindh Government Allows On-Campus Classes For All Grades Despite Health Minister’s Warning

Karachi : Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani sticks to the decision of commencing on-campus classes for all grades from September 28. The announcement came a day after the provincial Health Minister, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, warned against the reopening of schools from the said date. Ghani asserted this while visiting different schools to review the arrangements for implementing the SOPs and later in a video statement. He directed all educational institutes to complete their preparations by then.

Later, Ghani said while talking to media persons that Covid-19 cases in the province had declined and the situation had improved. When asked why more numbers of cases were now being reported, he said it was due to more people were getting tested. The provincial health minister disclosed that positivity rate in Sindh had increased from 1.5 per cent to 3pc. “A second wave of Covid-19 has been predicted in the current situation,” she added.
